We believe Donald Trump represents the greatest threat to American democracy since the Civil War. He is currently on trial for fraudulently conspiring to overturn the results of the 2020 election and disrupt the transfer of power to the legitimate winner. Free and fair elections and the peaceful transfer of power are the bedrock of our democratic system.
We believe to save our American Republic, our highest priority must be to defeat Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
We believe the best way to achieve that outcome is to make the 2024 election a clean referendum on democracy, with one pro-democracy candidate running one-on-one against Donald Trump, the anti-democracy candidate. All reputable polling shows that a third-party candidate will split the pro-democracy, anti-Trump vote and almost certainly tip a tight race to Trump and return him to the White House.
We believe that Donald Trump poses an ongoing threat to our Republic and our democratic way of life. He has publicly threatened the termination of the Constitution that, as president, he was sworn to uphold. And he has publicly laid out plans for a second term that would punish his enemies and turn our democracy into an autocracy.
For that reason, we ask No Labels to join us in our effort to prevent Donald Trump from ever occupying the Oval Office again by pledging today that if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee in 2024, they will immediately abandon their effort to nominate a third-party candidate for president.
